Securing a door
Background
There are many ways to forcefully open a door in order to gain entrance to a room or building, but once inside it is often important to securely keep doors closed. A portable device that quickly and easily reduces the ability for someone to enter a door would allow law enforcement and members of the military to better protect themselves and others.
Requirements
The submission must meet the following criteria to be graded:
2) Secures the door in 60 seconds or less
3) Weighs 10 pounds or less
4) Occupies a space of 288 cubic inches or less
Additional Grading Criteria
All submissions that meet the requirements will be graded for judgement using the following metrics:
1) How long it secures the door
2) How quickly someone can deploy the device
3) How light the device is
4) How small the device is
Extra Judge Considerations
The judge will also consider how easily the device is used when grading the submissions.
